American Wealth

Poor Americans must feel like donkeys when they read the most recent Federal Reserve Flow of Funds report.
American households have $82 trillion in overall wealth … but the top 1% of the US population has grabbed $32.6 trillion of that.
One trillion is equal to 1000 billion – $32.6 trillion written out is $32,600,000,000,000.00.
A record number of Americans now toil in poverty and debt – yet it would only cost 0.5% of the 1%’s wealth to eliminate poverty in the US.
If the $82 trillion in overall wealth were spread out evenly, every US household would now have $712k.
However, as of the end of 2013, the median household only had $56k in wealth.
From 2007 – 2013, overall American wealth increased 26%, while the median household lost 43%.
If median wealth continues to decline at this rate in America, then over 50% of US households will be bankrupt within the next decade.

Love Is

When you go out
And touch a foreigner
And step beyond the borders of your boyhood
Beyond your father’s fears
Beyond your mother’s moat
And mix the blood
Saying: I love you
Great is your life
With a foreigner for your wife.

Super Hemp

Hemp fibres are better than graphene, scientists have discovered.
The waste fibres from hemp crops can be transformed into high-performance energy storage devices.
Scientists “cooked” cannabis bark into carbon nanosheets and built supercapacitors “on a par with or better than graphene” – the industry gold standard.
Electric cars and power tools could harness this hemp technology, the US researchers say.
They presented their work at the American Chemical Society meeting in San Francisco.
“People ask me: why hemp? I say, why not?” said Dr David Mitlin of Clarkson University, New York, who describes his device in the journal ACS Nano.
“We’re making graphene-like materials for a thousandth of the price – and we’re doing it with waste.
“The hemp we use is perfectly legal to grow. It has no THC in it at all – so there’s no overlap with any recreational activities.”

War On Sugar

Save the Lbs and your health by returning to the diet common 50 year ago.
Real home cooked food is the answer to weight reduction.
Less processed foods and sugar, but meals prepared from scratch.
It’s simple … but many people are unwittingly putting on weight because shop food is packed with sugar.
Sugar is probably the heaviest drug on Earth … more dangerous than cocaine, alcohol or tobacco … yet food manufactures are pushing more and more sugar into their products.
Sugar, not fat, is now considered the devil’s food.
Dr Robert Lustig is the planet’s white-knight come to save us from our addiction to sugar.
Dr. Lustig has published Fat Chance: The Hidden Truth About Sugar, Obesity and Disease, and has spent the past 16 years treating childhood obesity.
His meta-analysis of the cutting-edge research on large-cohort studies of what sugar does to populations across the world, alongside his own clinical observations, has him credited with starting the war on sugar.
“Politicians have to come in and reset the playing field, as they have with any substance that is toxic and abused, ubiquitous and with negative consequence for society,” he says. “Alcohol, cigarettes, cocaine. We don’t have to ban any of them. We don’t have to ban sugar. But the food industry cannot be given carte blanche. They’re allowed to make money, but they’re not allowed to make money by making people sick.”

Ice Sheets Melting

Polar ice loss is alarming scientists.
Ice sheets in Antarctica and Greenland are now being depleted at an astonishing rate of 120 cubic miles each year.
A European Space Agency probe, using data from CryoSat-2, has been measuring the thickness of the planet’s ice sheets and glaciers since it was launched in 2010.
Even more alarming, the rate of loss of ice from the two regions has more than doubled since 2009, revealing the dramatic impact that climate change is beginning to have on our world, according to The Observer.
Researchers, based at Germany’s Alfred Wegener Institute Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research – used 200m data points across Antarctica and 14.3m across Greenland, all collected by CryoSat, to study how the ice sheets there had changed over the past three years.
The satellite carries a high-precision altimeter, which sends out short radar pulses that bounce off the ice surface and then back to the satellite. By measuring the time this takes, the height of the ice beneath the spacecraft can be calculated.
It was found from the average drops in elevation that were detected by CryoSat that Greenland alone is losing about 90 cubic miles a year, while in Antarctica the annual volume loss is about 30 cubic miles.
These rates of loss – described as “incredible” by one researcher – are the highest observed since altimetry satellite records began about 20 years ago, and they mean that the ice sheets’ annual contribution to sea-level rise has doubled since 2009, say the researchers whose work was published in the journal Cryosphere last week.

Heat Flip

Scientists warn of a heat flip in 15 years.
They have discovered that excess global warming is being stored in the depths of the Atlantic and Southern Oceans.
New research believes it has the key behind the slowdown in global warming in recent years.
The slowdown of average surface temperature rises in the last 15 years after decades of rapid warming, has been seized on by climate change skeptics.
It has also puzzled scientists, who have hypothesised that everything from volcanic eruptions and sulphur from Chinese power stations to heat being trapped deep in the oceans could be the cause.
The new study, published in the journal Science, concludes that the Pacific alone cannot explain the warming “hiatus” and that much of the heat being trapped by greenhouse gases at record levels in the atmosphere is being sunk hundreds of metres down in the Atlantic and Southern oceans.
But the finding suggests that a naturally occurring ocean cycle burying the heat will flip in around 15 years’ time, causing global temperature rises to accelerate again.

Americans are sending one of their worst polluting ships to bring rich punters on a cruise to experience the environmental devastation of the Arctic.
The luxury cruise operator will use a ship that emits three times more CO2 per passenger per mile than a jumbo jet.
This ‘environmental disaster tourism’, which will be the first ever leisure cruise through the Northwest Passage, is for those wealthy few who wish to witness the effects of climate change first-hand.
Tickets for the 13-deck ship Crystal Serenity, run by Crystal Cruises, will cost between $20,000 and $44,000.
The 32-day holiday for a thousand prosperous customers will feature whales, walruses but “no guarantee” – says the company – of spotting a polar bear.
The 68,000-ton Crystal Serenity,
Popular Science has called the cruise “environmental disaster tourism”.
Research shows the carbon footprint of a cruise ship is triple that of a Boeing 747 – per passenger per mile.

How old are humans?
The scientific establishment tells us a hundred thousand years.
Creationist tells us seven thousand years.
But evidence is popping out all over the planet that humans could be here for hundreds of millions of years … if not billions of years.
An MIT Boston scientist tells us: “We’ve basically been lied to about our ancient history. The body of evidence, and the amount if it, would suggest that in a free and open society we would learn about these very interesting artifacts, if it were not for the fact that it interrupts our social order.
“Obviously the internet age has made a huge impact on getting the word out. Because as you might imagine from the video, even a book, book tour, and multiple interviews globally, are all not enough to get the word out.
“At the very least we should at least ask the question, as we are the only human species, how come there is only one human species? When in all the plant kingdom there are multiple species of the same genus?”
